Lastly, its compact wall plug design adds a touch of style to your home.

So today let us guide you through the easy setup process. We will be discussing two major methods. You can choose the one as per your convenience. So with further ado let’s begin.

Netgear EX6250 Setup

Netgear EX6250 Setup Using WPS Method

Before you begin with this method make sure your router supports the WPS button. In case it doesn’t then you can go with the second method which is app based.

  • Firstly, take out your Netgear EX6250 wifi range extender and place it in the same room as your router. Make Sure there are no physical barriers like huge walls, electrical appliances or metal objects near or in the middle of the router and the extender. As these things can mess up with the signals.
  • Next, plug in the range extender into an electrical outlet. Switch it on. Let the power LED on the EX6250 extender turn solid green. Only then move ahead to the next step.
  • Further, press the WPS button on the EX6250 extender. Within the next 2 minutes press the WPS button on your host router. Now, both of them will start the synchronization process. Look at the behavior of the WPS LED on the extender. If it is showcasing a blinking green light, this means the connection is being established. Whereas if it shows a solid green light then the connection is successful.
  • Lastly, unplug the range extender and place it halfway from the router and the area where you need extended coverage. Power it on. Now, check the router LED on the extender. If it is solid green then the connection is ultimately best. Whereas if it shows amber light or red light then you need to move the extender closer to the router.
  • Finally, to check the connection connect the devices to the extender. To connect go to the wifi settings and look for the network name ending with _EXT. Click on it to connect. Move around the different areas to test the connection.

Netgear EX6250 Setup Using Nighthawk App

Netgear EX6250 Setup through the Nighthawk app is also extremely easy and quick. Here’s everything you need to do:

  • Begin the process by plugging in the range extender near to the router. Power it on. When the Power LED on the extender turns solid green, move to the next step.
  • Secondly, connect any of your devices to the extender’s wifi network. For this open wifi settings, search for the network name “Netgear_EXT”. Once found click on it and then click on connect.
  • Further, on the same connected device, download and install the Netgear Nighthawk app. The app is available on Play Store as well as The App Store.
  • Once downloaded, open the app and simply start following the on-screen prompts. Ultimately after following all the instructions your Netgear EX6250 setup will be completed.
  • Lastly, unplug the extender and now place it in the central location so that it can cover every single corner of your home. Make sure the extender is within the range of the router as well as near to the area where you need extended coverage. To test the placement check the router link LED on the extender. If it is showcasing a solid green light then the placement is perfect. But if it shows amber or solid red light then consider repositioning the extender.
  • Finally, test the connection by connecting the devices to the new network. Once connected, take your device to the area that previously had poor connectivity. Further, stream any high definition video and keep the device there. Come back to the extender and check the client link LED on the extender to check if the connectivity is proper or not. The solid green light is what you should strive for.
