Installation

Prior to opting for any method you need to Install the extender device. Installation may involve following steps:

• Firstly take your Netgear AX1800 Range Extender out of the box.
• Thereafter find an adequate location to keep the extender.
• During the setup of the device, proximity is required. You have to place the device next to the main router device.
• Switch on the power by connecting the device to the power outlet. (Note: the models of AX1800 often come with compact wall plug designs or have a separate power adapter. You need to attach the power adapter by yourself, if you are using model such as EAX20)

If you are opting Web & app based setup method then follow the below mentioned steps too:

• Take a client device such as Laptop or computer or mobile or tablet.
• Connect the client device with the extender’s network.
• For connection you should go to the WiFi settings and search for the “NETGEAR_EXT”
• Once connected, move ahead towards the setup.

Connect with App

• In your Mobile or Tablet you have to download the Nighthawk app.
• You can use IOS as well as Android devices to do the Netgear AX1800 WiFi Mesh Extender Setup.
• Go to the App store and search for “NETGEAR Nighthawk – WiFi App” or open the google play store to look for “NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Router”
• Click on install option to download the app and then launch it once installation is complete.
• On the app screen you’ll see create an account option for new users.
• Do the needful by follow the screen and select “setup extender device”
• Follow the on screen guide to complete the configuration of your Netgear AX1800 device.

Connect with WPS

The WPS configuration method needs a router that supports the WPS button.

• In this way of configuration you need to press the WPS button of your extender device.
• As you do, the WPS LED will start blinking.
• Thereafter you have to press the router’s WPS button within the next two minutes.
• Now, relax and wait for the process to complete.
• Your AX1800 extender will reboot itself.
• When it’s on again, you’ll notice the WiFi LED starts. This signifies that the process is completed successfully.
• Now you can relocate and test your new network.

With the WPS setup, your extender device SSID & Password will automatically set the same as your router network. SSID displays with “RouterSSID_EXT”. You can connect to the network by using your main network’s password.

Connect with Web

• To configure using the Web method you need to use a Laptop/ computer.
• Open the web browser, search for http://www.mywifiext.net/ and login page will open on the screen
• Afterwards you need to create an account to use the web portal.
• Thereafter, select the “New extender device setup” option and click on next.

• Follow the screen and connect to the router network.
