Unpack The Extender

Front Panel

Front panel of the device contains LEDs. These LEDs will help the user to know their device working pattern. On the front you’ll find:

  • Ethernet LED that shows the ethernet cable connection with the device or not.
  • 5 GHz LED that depicts whether the device is operating at 5GHz frequency.
  • 2.4 GHz LED that depicts whether the device is operating at 2.4GHz frequency.

Back panel

  • Follow the on screen guide and create your account on the app.

WPS

To use the WPS button method, your home router should also have a WPS button. This method is less time consuming and most convenient to follow.

  • Press the WPS button on the Netgear EAX20 range extender device firstly.
  • Within the next two minutes, locate and press the WPS of your existing home network router device.
  • Wait for about 10 minutes and let the Netgear EAX20 setup complete.
  • Thereafter you can test the network by connecting to the extender SSID.

Once the WPS based connection completes, your extender SSID will change to the same as your router’s id with _EXT. To use the network you need to provide the password too. The password is also the same as your router’s network password.

Web Browser

  • To move with a web based method, you need a computer or laptop device.
  • Connect it with the “NETGEAR_EXT” extender network and then rush to a web browser
  • Afterwards, search for http://www.mywifiext.net/ and login page will open on the screen
  • Netgear installation assistant will guide you to complete the Netgear EAX20 setup.
  • Follow the on screen guide and create your account.
  • Afterwards, choose the range extender mode and click next.
  • Provide your existing network information and connect to the router device.
